The Chainsaw Murderer

It was a tiring day for Tim. He had just left his workplace and was walking on the silent streets all alone. He felt that he was being followed, he could hear someone else's footsteps from his behind. So he turned back and saw nothing. He thought he was just imagining things just when he heard the sound of a chainsaw. He turned back and saw a man with a chainsaw in his hands running towards him. Tim got so scared he started running but the man was running faster and he got ahold of Tim. The man banged his head with the rear of the chainsaw. He fainted and when he woke up he was at an old abandoned building where he could see no one but the man who brought him there. Tim asked him why was he there. The man said "To pay for your sins." and he took out the chainsaw and started cutting his legs. Tim cried out with pain. The man slowly started dismembering each part of his body and soon Tim died.

The police found Tim's body alongside the river bank wrapped in a tarpaulin after a week after his gruesome murder. They were working their best but couldn't find the murderer. Soon after 5 days, they found another body at the same location and in the same condition as Tim. It was later to be identified as a man named John. The police knew that it was done by the same person. They found out that Tim and John were linked through work. They worked at the same company and they did a project together. They both were construction workers. The Investigation Officer Matt knew that someone was doing this to seek revenge. He thought of investigating the project that both Tim and John were working on and was scared that the rest of the members of that project can be the next target.

One month passed by and there were two more similar deaths. It was the same as Matt feared, the people who were dead were on the same company and project. Matt got to know that there were 10 people working on the same project out of which 5 died. But he thought that the murderer killed only 4 of them, then who was the fifth one. He started investigating the fifth person and got to know that the man's name was Peter. Peter got into an accident 2 years ago in which he cut his leg with a chainsaw and died due to loss of blood. Things got more clear to Matt, he thought that someone is taking revenge for the death of Peter, but why is someone taking revenge if it was merely an accident. He went to Peter's house to know more. Peter had a 19-year-old son and a wife. Matt met with them and asked how are they coping with it. The wife was very sad and depressed but his son, Sam was always angry after the accident. Matt suspected that Sam had done anything with it. He asked Sam a few questions but he didn't answer any of them. 

Matt researched that on the day of Peter's accident there were only 6 people present at the construction site, but everyone died except for one man Kevin. Matt knew only he will have the answers. He went to Kevin and asked him to tell him everything that happened that day and also told him that he may be the next one to die. Kevin said "It started off as a regular work day. There were 10 people in the project but 4 were on leave that day. Peter was a really hard-working man, he never left his work in between but other men had a habit of taking breaks off the break time. That day also after 3 hours of labor the rest of the men went out of the site to rest but I stayed. I and Peter were working alone. He was working with the chainsaw and suddenly he cut off his leg from it, I was on the other side of the construction site and I didn't know that he cut off his leg until 10 minutes, then I heard him cry so loudly so I went to him and when I saw him a lot of blood was lost. The other men, they were all busy with their own stuff that no one bothered to help. I called the ambulance but it took more than 30 minutes to reach there and on his way to the hospital, Peter died."

Matt got things more clearly and he told Kevin that he thought that someone is killing the other people for revenge for Peter's death. A person that was close to Peter and told him to look out after himself and maybe the killer may attack him next. Matt had serious doubts about Peter's son Sam. He thought maybe Sam is doing this for his dad. He goes to Peter's house again with a search warrant and an investigating team. They searched the whole house and when they went to the basement, they found a chainsaw. Matt knew that it was the murder weapon. They found Sam's fingerprint on it. They arrested Sam and declared him to be the murderer.

Sam was jailed. After some days a man walked out of nowhere at the police station and revealed that he was the murderer. Everyone at the station was shocked because the man was none other than PETER!

Matt took him for interrogation and asked him to tell everything. Peter said "After that accident, I didn't die. At first, all doctors thought that I died and declared me dead, but later I woke up. All doctors were shocked, and I asked them not to tell anyone that I am alive. They sent me to Canada to treat my leg. After 2 years, I was all fine. All I thought about was to take revenge on the people who let me die, who didn't do anything when I was in so much pain. So I killed all of them and made them feel the pain of being cut with a chainsaw. But when I saw that you arrested my dear and innocent son, I couldn't hold back. I couldn't let his future get ruined. He is innocent, leave him and arrest me, I am the culprit."

Everyone was shocked. Soon after Sam was released and Peter was arrested.
